Our Hope for the Future
The Advent School’s 60 year legacy is just the beginning. With the support of our community, we can ensure that future generations learn with passion, act with courage, and change the world.
Our historic homes at 15-17 Brimmer Street have taken many forms since we moved into them in 1972. As former residences, you can see the remnants of the building’s domestic past with the many bathrooms and kitchen spaces throughout the buildings. Until the early 2000s, the fourth and fifth floors of our main campus remained apartments, including an apartment used by former Heads of School on the fourth floor.
As our needs changed, we renovated kitchens into classroom spaces, removed walls, built walls, and converted the apartments into classroom and administrative spaces. With the 50th anniversary of our time in Brimmer Street quickly approaching, there are several maintenance projects that are essential to keeping our historic home in the heart of the city in good shape. These improvements will allow us to better deliver our inspiring curriculum to our students and to provide more opportunities to live our mission.
In addition to building improvements, we are focusing on growing two endowments - one endowment for unrestricted operating support and one endowment for faculty support, professional development, and financial aid.
To reach these goals, we are excited to announce a forthcoming campaign. This campaign will ensure our future while honoring our past. We hope that you’ll join us in celebrating 60 years of Advent and strengthening our future.
